Michael has implemented a portion of the User Management System (UMS) and we met as a group today to discuss the protocol and ways to improve the interface. It is capable of querying the database and displaying user information as well as cross-referencing users with the doors they can access. We also discussed how to add new users to the system. Marshall is working now on a way to improve the system by allowing the doorlock to function without the UMS. In this system the owner can use an LCD panel on the lock to manage users that have access to the lock.
Things are running smoothly. Jim and Adam are investigating how to interface with the EEPROM, as well as how to handle signals coming from the RFID reader. Also Owen is looking into a system for detecting when the door shuts, such that we can automatically lock the door.
